David Jin is an experienced organist and choral conductor who regularly provides music for church services in the Netherlands. He currently serves as the organist for the Protestantse Gemeente Maas-Heuvelland, contributing to services in Vaals, Gulpen, where he supports the liturgy with thoughtfully prepared and stylistically appropriate music.
David’s journey as a church musician began in early 2021, when he undertook a volunteer internship for the english Missa at the Basilica of Saint Servaas/Onze Lieve Vrouw Kerk in Maastricht, where he provided organ accompaniment for Mass and studied the structure of Catholic liturgy in depth. This formative period gave him hands-on experience in sacred music and strengthened his understanding of the role of organ in both traditional and modern worship settings.
From late 2021, David started to serve as a freelance organist in Maastricht area, playing for regular Sunday Masses as well as major feast services such as Christmas and Easter. His freelance engagements later extended to other churches in the region.
In addition to regular services, David has also been invited to play for special liturgical occasions, such as wedding Masses, including one at Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Aachen, Germany, and funeral Masses in both Catholic and Protestant settings. These events require a sensitive musical approach and a deep understanding of pastoral needs, both of which David brings to each occasion with care and professionalism.
David supports worship with carefully selected organ music from the Baroque to modern repertoire, tailored to the liturgical moment. He collaborates with pastors to choose hymns and service music that reflect the church calendar and community traditions, always aiming to serve with musical sensitivity and respect.
